Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the E.C. Shipley residence on the corner of Clark Avenue and Eighth Street, October 12, 1894. The two-story house is at center. It has a covered porch at left with a small covered balcony directly above. The roof is covered with wooden tiles and is very steeply sloped. A woman can be seen on the porch, while a child can be seen standing on the front lawn at center. Two unpaved roads intersect in the foreground, while a row of young palm trees are at right. A large tree is visible in the background at left. An 1888 photo shows the family living at another address: 124 West 24th Street.
