Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Mandarin Market, otherwise called Motor Inn Market, a drive-in market on the northeast corner of LaMirada and Vine Street, [s.d.]. It was built in 1928 or 1929. A long, one-story building with sloped, Mandarin-style roofs can be seen at center. At least three automobiles can be seen parked in front of the buildings, while a small, one-room building can be seen separate from and in front of the main building. A man can be seen walking at left, while a paved road runs from the right foreground to the left. Another road intersects the first at center and runs to the right. Street lamps can be seen on the corners. Mountains are visible in the left background. A sign can be seen above the building at center reading, "Mandarin Market".

In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
