Description
Photograph of interior view of Mary Louise Tea Room, ca.1910-1919. At center, four tables set with white linens and candles can be seen. What looks like a hotel lobby is through the door. There are some over-stuffed chairs and long side chests covered with lamps and scarves. A large painting is visible above the chest. To the right, groups of candles can also be seen hanging from the ceiling. A thin, decorative carpet covers the expansive room.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
