Description
Photographic portrait of a family in front of their home on Ninth Street between Spring Street and Broadway, Los Angeles, ca.1890-1900. A large tree planted along the sidewalk to the left obscures much of the clapboard-sided house, which is separated from the sidewalk by a picket fence. A young woman holds a baby out on her right hip, a sign visible over her head that reads "Ice [...] Call". A second, middle-aged woman sits in a chair on the porch to the left. The gate to the fence is open.
