Photograph of the physiotherapy ward at the Los Angeles County General Hospital at 1100 Mission Road, ca.1925. A row of high cots lines the wall at left. Several children can be seen in the cots, as well as in other areas of the room. At center, a nurse is pushing a gurney with a child on board, while in the foreground at right, a boy is being examined while sitting in a chair. Two boys and a nurse can be seen near an examination table at right. Large windows can be seen along the wall at left.

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
