Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Los Angeles and Independence Rail Road Terminal at Fifth Street and San Pedro Street, Santa Monica, 1888. Two lavishly decorated brick towers extend from the main building to either side of its entrance. Molding surrounds each of the towers' tall, double-paned windows, with small balconies extending beneath the second-story of each. The surrounding area is unpaved with a slim patch of overgrown grass lining the front of the depot. Text written-in along the bottom of the image reads "Old Santa Monica Depot".
