Description
Photograph of steamship Yale near San Pedro Harbor, ca.1918. At center, the large passenger steamship Yale can be seen moving alongside a large harbor. The steamship contained two levels beneath the upper deck for passengers. Several columns, doors, and windows can be seen lining the side of the ship. Additionally, a line of portholes and windows are visible along the bottom hull of the ship. Near the ship's center, two large poles are visible. Between the poles, the ship's two smokestacks can be seen. Several lifeboats are also visible along the top deck. To the left of the ship, two small unidentified crafts are seen moving through the calm water. In the background, small buildings are seen lining the harbor's edge. In the extreme foreground, a man wearing a coat and rounded hat is visible to the left of the image.
