Doctor Robert Harrington (Speech Pathologist at Orthopaedic Hospital uses new iron lung); John Troost (patient); Mrs. Ruby Colwell (Pre-school teacher at hospital). ; Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Monteverde. Date: 1953-02-13. Reporter: Clausen. Assignment: Cerebral Palsy. For Sunday, 1953-02-15. Dr. Robert Harrington, speech pathologist at Orthopaedic Hospital, uses new iron lung therapy on John Troost, 5, a cerebral palsied patient. Microphone is to record his voice before, during and after treatment. Machine at right is pneumograph to record rhythm of breathing.
