Mrs. Billie Wolfson (Chairman of Fund Raising Committee); Kermit Claster (Vice President of Orbach's); (hand out).; Supplementary material reads: "Robert M. Garrick; 5657 Wilshire Boulevard; Los Angeles 36, California; WEbster 1-1789; (with art). For Release: Monday, Nov. 12th; Recovery Foundation Receives $6,500 check to aid emotionally disturbed children. The Recovery Foundation of Los Angeles was the recipient of $6,500 donated by the general public to aid the Foundation's work in behalf of emotionally disturbed children. Presentation of the money was made Saturday night at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel during a meeting attended by more than 500 members and friends of the group. Kermit Claster, vice president of Ohrbach's Inc., and president of the Foundation, accepted the contribution from Mrs. Billie Wolfson, Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee. A non-profit corporation, The Recovery Foundation was established two years ago to provide psychiatric therapy for children and families with emotional disturbance. Professional people and community leaders have supported the program, recognizing the urgent need concerning the Nation's mental health problems. Foundation headquarters are located at 221 North Robertson Blvd., Beverly Hills. Persons interested in the Foundation's work are invited to visit the offices".

Description
The Los Angeles Examiner Photographs Collection consists of approximately 1.4 million prints and negatives from the Los Angeles Examiner newspaper. It was a daily newspaper, published in the afternoon on weekdays (Herald-Express) and in the morning on weekends (Examiner). The afternoon and morning papers merged in 1962 (Herald Examiner).

Almost every event and individual receiving news coverage in Los Angeles during the period late 1920's to 1961 is represented in the collection. Coverage is broad including crime, sports, society, art, and entertainment. The collection forms part of the Hearst Collection and was a gift from the Los Angeles Herald Examiner Division of the Hearst Corporation in 1978.
The Los Angeles Examiner Negatives Collection (1950-1961) consists of approximately 215,000 4x5-inch negatives from the Los Angeles Examiner newspaper.
The Los Angeles Examiner Prints Collection consists of approximately 1.2 million photoprints from the Los Angeles Examiner newspaper.
