Sergeant First Class Joseph Rodriguez -- 23 years (of San Bernardino); Miss Rose Arnada (fiance); Miss Josephine Rodriguez (sister).; Supplementary material reads: "TWA Public Relations, Los Angeles, MI. 8141. (Emmet Riordan -- Joe Cordova). (For release: Monday, 1952-01-28). Korean war veteran Sergeant First Class Joseph Rodriguez, 23, of San Bernardino, accompanied by his fiance Miss Rose Aranda, left, and sister, Miss Josephine Rodriguez, departed via TWA Constellation yesterday for Washington, D.C. , where he will be presented the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman, tomorrow, 1/29). Sgt. Rodriguez, who is now assigned to the ORC School at San Bernardino, looked calm as he stepped aboard the giant Skyliner, but commented that he has been looking forward to the trip to Washington, D.C. for the presentation of the medal from the president which will be one of the greatest moments in his life".

Description The Los Angeles Examiner Photographs Collection consists of approximately 1.4 million prints and negatives from the Los Angeles Examiner newspaper. It was a daily newspaper, published in the afternoon on weekdays (Herald-Express) and in the morning on weekends (Examiner). The afternoon and morning papers merged in 1962 (Herald Examiner).

Coverage is broad including crime, sports, society, art, and entertainment. The collection forms part of the Hearst Collection and was a gift from the Los Angeles Herald Examiner Division of the Hearst Corporation in 1978.

The Los Angeles Examiner Negatives Collection (1950-1961) consists of approximately 215,000 4x5-inch negatives from the Los Angeles Examiner newspaper.

The Los Angeles Examiner Prints Collection consists of approximately 1.2 million photoprints from the Los Angeles Examiner newspaper.
