Description

(Top photo) Carolyn Weathers, Dottie Frank, Brenda Weathers, Anita Ornelas in the parking lot of a big dance hall for a new year's party. New Year's Day 1962. Dottie, in cowboy hat, was a native Pennsylvanian, who liked to think she was a Texan of the most stereotypical order. Hat, gaudy boots, western shirt and pants, oversize silver belt buckle with "TEXAS" engraved on it. She loved the Texas plates on her big red convertible. Lots of "ma'ams" and "howdies", even the occasional thigh slap. When she and Carolyn traveled to Pennsylvania in the summer of 1962, Carolyn, the native Texan, wanted to hide in the woodwork from embarrassment.
