(Top left) Cindy, Brenda Weathers and Anita Ornelas's dog, playing with another dog in the living room floor of their apartment on Claremont. (Top right) Brenda Weathers sitting in the floor of the Claremont apartment. She is drinking beer and plaintively singing folk songs. Spring 1963. (Bottom left) Carolyn Weathers, with beer can and cigarette, cynically inviting guests into the Throne Room. Spring 1963. (Bottom right) At Fernando's Hideaway, a gay bar on the Riverwalk. Left to right: Carolyn Weathers, Fernando, Anita Ornelas. Two unidentified women in the background. Carolyn's distressed look is because she was afraid Fernando was going to break her teased and spray netted hair. Every year at Fiesta, gay men and women would cram themselves onto Fernando's patio to watch the Flambeau, San Antonio's nighttime boat parade down the San Antonio River. When a Navy float glided past, the gay men shouted, "Seafood! Seafood!" Spring 1963.
