JON BAILEY, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

FEATURIN

GMCLA charts new territories of
sound and rhythm inthis modern tes-
tament to our primitive souls.

From the bloodcry of hope carried on

Ime GAY MENS CHORUS OF LOS ANGELES

DAVE BARTON, GENERAL MANAGER

rFREMIERE OF
What our audiences say:
“lloved the feeling of community and

the sound of male voices raised in

joy.”
frantic Latin rhythms ... to the primal LEGACIES “Makes me proud to be me!”

woods-speak of Native American In-

dians ... to the sounds of an Indonesian gong-chime
... to the two-step beat of country/western dance ...
to the electric sizzle of a synthesizer orchestra.

You will be amazed as this contemporary music
connects with our anger, our wanderlust, our dance,
our melancholy, our pride, our hope.

Especially promising is the power of the premiere
work Hippen Legacies which spans the 80s, capturing
the dominant moods of the AIDS generation.

“Quality, diversity, mix of classical and modern... of
serious and light, performance of premiere works,
and above all the tremendous sense of pride in expe-
riencing such quality ...”

“The fact that the chorus loves what they're doing...
it comes across to the audience.”

“The spirit and energy are amazing!”

Experience Los Angeles’ premier men’s chorus in a
riveting performance that echoes the Voices oF Topay!
