Text continues: "Medical costs for research and treatment are staggering. Help us wipe out this terrible killer. Support your foundation. AIDS may strike someone you love. Services, counseling, telephone information, medical referrals, speakers bureau, support groups, call 916-448-AIDS." Upper portion of the poster contains white text on black background; lower portion contains black text on white background. The upper half of the poster contains an enlarged photograph of a microscopic skin biopsy of Kaposi sarcoma. Numbered and signed on lower margin in pen by Dianne Crawford.

PHOTOGRAPH: AIDS — the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome includes such diseases as Kaposi Sarcoma (KKS), Pneumocystis Carinii Pneumonia (PCP) and other serious infections.
Enlarged PHOTO is a microscopic skin biopsy of K.S. The dark, enlongated cells are the cancer cells.

ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives is the oldest active Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning (LGBTQ) organization in the United States and the largest repository of LGBTQ materials in the world. Founded in 1952, ONE Archives currently houses over two million archival items including periodicals, books, film, video and audio recordings, photographs, artworks, organizational records and personal papers.
A small subset of this material has been digitized and is available online.
