Z 2 “tes "As much as you listen, as much as you see on T.V., as much as you read, to experience the Quilt is the only thing that is going to
le shake a person's soul and allow them to reach out, to touch a place in their hearts perhaps they didn't know existed."
— Chamute, Kansas
"thousands of
volunteers, drawn
together by the
tremendous
meaning of the
Quilt, are all heroes
in the fight against

‘| have seen with my own eyes how lovingly each panel is cared for.
Although we couldn't see his face or touch his hand or hear his voice,
our son was with us once again because of the Quilt."

“Because of the Quilt, my lover's name will not pass from the face of the earth - he
will not be lost in the statistics - reduced to a number. His name will be preserved
so that future generations will know that he was here and that we loved him."
