Editors, publishers, booksellers, printers, postal &
customs inspectors, prison guards and reviewers form
an unspoken conspiracy to keep gay work from being
printed or distributed. Here is a recent example, which
is hard to dismiss as paranoid injustice collecting.
Edwards Brothers of Ann Arbor, Michigan, refused to
print Frederick Greenfield’s AMUSEMENT BUSI-
NESS. They say that ‘‘The company management feels
that some employees who would be working with the
photocopy and printed book would find the attached
picture offensive particularly since we employ many
women and young school people in our manufacturing
areas. We would prefer that you substitute or delete the
picture since there are no references to it in the text and
its only purpose seems to be ‘shock’ value for want of a
better term.’’ Even though we attempted to comply,
Edwards Brothers still refuse us.

THE GOOD GAY POETS have been organized to
overtake the censors and we are searching for a printer.
Help us by ordering a copy of AMUSEMENT
BUSINESS for $3.00. Box 277 Astor Station, Boston,
MA 02123.
