Text continues: "There are between ten and twenty million gay Americans. Who are we? Lesbians and gay men have always been a part of American history. Who were we? More people are choosing to live openly gay lives. What are we becoming? Word is out, stories of some of our lives, filmed across the country for two years, is the first expansive look at what has been a secret side of America."Black text and graphics on white paper. Description ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives is the oldest active Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning (LGBTQ) organization in the United States and the largest repository of LGBTQ materials in the world. Founded in 1952, ONE Archives currently houses over two million archival items including periodicals, books, film, video and audio recordings, photographs, artworks, organizational records and personal papers.

A small subset of this material has been digitized and is available online.
