Text continues: "Be part of a global celebration. Be part of the largest gathering of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders in the world. Be a part of the most extraordinary event ever. Stonewall 25 commemorates the birth of the gay and lesbian rights movement which sprang a rebellion - a transformation of oppression to anger, pride, self-affirmation and action--that took place at the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street in New York City in June, 1969."Black text and pink images on white background. ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives is the oldest active Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning (LGBTQ) organization in the United States and the largest repository of LGBTQ materials in the world. Founded in 1952, ONE Archives currently houses over two million archival items including periodicals, books, film, video and audio recordings, photographs, artworks, organizational records and personal papers.
A small subset of this material has been digitized and is available online.
