Description
Text continues: "On Saturday August 22, at the Coral Ridge Ministries, our peaceful 'pray for tolerance' demonstration will be one of the largest gatherings of South Florida human rights advocates ever seen in Broward County. Our message is simple… We stand for separation of church and state. We call for an end to untruths, intolerance, and violence against gay and lesbian people. We embrace the diversity of America's religious heritage. We oppose legislation of any one group's special interpretation of the Bible as called for by Dr. Kennedy and the radical fundamentalist's agenda. The Rev. D.J. Kennedy of the Coral Ridge Ministries have launched a massive ad campaign nationwide which contains massive untruths that dehumanize and oppress the gay and lesbian community. A call goes to all communities to demonstrate that if you try to oppress a small segment of us, you oppress all of us. Silence is the welcome mat for bigotry."In the background is a photograph of a demonstration outside of Coral Ridge Ministries; multicolored text overlays the photograph. The center of the poster contains a illustration of two hands breaking out of a rope tie with the phrase, "Truth must confront untruth relentlessly," above and "Human Rights Now" below the image. The lower margin of the poster contains the logos of the endorsing organizations.
