Conference, originally scheduled for Harvard Univer-
sity which regretfully refused to hold this annual event,
when federal officials refused to change immigration
policies regarding travelers with HIV-infection; U.S.
Officials have made arrests, including travelers to
Canada when Montreal was the host city; medical
professionals insist that HIV-infected travelers pre-
sent no risk to American citizens; ironically, the world's
largest HIV population is probably in the United States;
AIDS activists believe the policies were deliberately
kept in order to force a cancellation of the Confer-
ence and thereby prevent embarrassing demonstra-
tions from occurring during the presidential campaign

AIDS Transmission
The Human Immuno-
deficiency Virus triggers
AIDS. It is transmitted
through blood, semen
vaginal fluids and mother's
milk. During sex, the virus
can enter the body through
the vagina, penis, mouth or
rectum. Intervenous drug
use transmits the virus
directly to blood. However,
donating blood can NOT
expose you to the virus.
