For years San Francisco and New York have dominated popiar and scholarly thinking about lesbian, gay, bisexual,
and transgender history, culture, and politics in the US. Although Los Angeles has played and continues to play at
least as important a role as these cities, it has only recently bequn to receive the attention it deserves. The Queer
Los Angeles lecture series has been organized to further this important work. Every week, a ditterent journalist
artist, scholar, or activist will discuss some aspect of history, culture, and politics of “Queer LA.” From AIDS fo art,
from activism to globalization, this series of lectures explores the richness and speciticity of Igbt lite in Los Angeles
