Description
Earth memories, Los Angeles, 1996, Belmont High School, exterior, First Street near Glendale Boulevard, Echo Park. Earth memories presents an evolutionary timeline: the formation of the planets, water world, the age of reptiles, dinosaurs, and the death of their era, the formation of mammals, the development of man from the cave artist to Mayan priests, and the present. The design was put together by a group of ten young graffiti writers, a recent art school graduate, and Cockcroft in a week-long marathon. The technique was brush painting with aerosol for finishing and detail--especially in the section of planets, and for eyes, highlights, and accents. Acrylic (brush and aerosol), 580' x 3 to 45', by Eva Cockcroft, Eric Nieman, Jaime "Vyal" Reyes, Edwin Perez, and others. Sponsored by ARTScorpsLA and Hollywood Beautification Team. -- Dunitz, Street gallery, p. 112, #33.
