Processes, [ilg]. etc., -- 2--, economic improvement is effected in producing pulp for paper-making, etc., resulting in the recovery of a valuable by-product now wasted, and making of commercial value the entire supple of sawdust, wood-waste, etc. 6. THE THORNLEY TEXTILE PROCESS, by which an improved sizing is produced. Yarn or fabrics can be rendered both water and acid-proof, while retaining their original flexibility. It does not deteriorate with age, soften or become sticky in the heat, nor crack in cold weather. Metallic salts can be precipitated upon the cloth and, where desired, rendered insoluble. 7. THE THORNLEY SEAWEED PROCESS, by which, at the time of harvesting at sea, the weed is all converted into a commercially valuable product, and a component of the binder. * * * 8. PATENT APPLICATIONS protecting the processes above outlined are as follows :- No. 13431 - 'Improved method of recovering coal from waste.' No. 12316 - 'Improvement in binders, and in the process of making same, for use in moulding or briquetting fuels and other substances.' No. 20458 - 'Improvements in or relating to the manufacture of plates for storage batteries or accumulators. No. 22644 - 'A process for the utilisation [sic] of seaweed.' No. 23421 - 'Improvements in or relating to the manufacture of cellulose.' No. 27297 - 'Improvements in or relating to the clarification and filtration of slimes and the like.' No. 27302 - 'A new plastic composition and process of making same.' No. 27314 - 'Improvements in or relating to the fuel briquettes and the like.' * * * FULL DETAILS of the PROCESSES outlined above are contained in separate memoranda. * * *" -- on paper.
