Description
Photograph of the beach and the Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, ca.1933. The beach is in the foreground and is a wide, sandy expanse occupied by hundreds of beachgoers lounging under umbrellas. Many people are swimming in the ocean in the distance at right. A large covered seating area is at left, and a tall bandstand is directly in front of it. The auditorium is in the background at right and is a massive rectangular building decorated by archways and arch-shaped windows. A walkway can be seen at right, and many people are visible. In the distance at left, a very tall building with a pointed tower can be seen.
