Photograph of an exterior front view of the Los Angeles Can Corporation, ca.1920-1929. The two-story building has a flat roof, large windows, and a water tower on the roof that reads, "Los Angeles Can Corporation". There is a portion of the building that is one-story tall in front of the main portion of the building. A convertible automobile can be seen parked along the street at left. A grass lawn can be seen in front of the building, while a street can be seen in the foreground.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
