Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of early Redondo Beach, showing a commercial street and a residential area, ca.1890. A wide, dirt road is shown in the foreground, along which a line of commercial buildings can be seen advertising their wares by way of sign. In the background, several houses of different sizes and models can be seen situated on the rise of a hill. Two furrows of fresh earth suggest that the road has been repaired recent to the image.; Legible signs from left to right include: "Fields' Restaurant", "J. Murphy Saloon. Wines & Liquors", "Bowling Alley", and "The Pavillion".
