Description
Photograph of Drum Bararcks Wilmington Encampment (U.S. Army Headquarters), showing tents, Los Angeles, ca.1865. Tree foliage stands in the foreground at the lower edge of the image, behind which a shack can be seen in a yard enclosed by a picket fence. Farther back, a large collection of Army tents are arranged in rows in the clearing. A group of men are standing next to a tall, narrow building to the left. Flagpoles with limp flags can be seen in the right distance.
