Although his sickness was not the heavy type, yet because of his
weak and fragile body and mind, he couldn't resist the disease. The
second day March 13, hés condition became worse so, we sent for Dr.
Altounian, He came soon and made a thorough examination, after Wich he
said that he will come two days later and if he finds no change, he
will remove him to his hospital.

The third day the temperature went up éup, So, seeing that the
wicked disease was on a race, I couldA!t stand any longer. I consulted
ever coming and going friends whether or not remove him to the hospital.
At last we desided on that. Badvely himself wished to gd’.This way he
will avoid complications and furthermore,he was torchering himself giv-
ing various advices about his work and welfwre, So, you see dear sister
he was not resting at all,on the conterary no one would be allowed in
the hospital to bother him/henee there,he will have a calm and peacful
mind.

But no, this too did not make any difference in his condition.
Although nobody was permited to see him,I thought they will make an
exception and let me visit him dayly. No, I too was not permited to see
him no matter how much I supplicated. The only way to comunicate was,
to send someone to hear about him, It was these: "He is 0.K." ,"His
state is not dangexous to worry". "He will get through it" ect. ect.

On the eleventh day, he had wished to see me and as his condi-
tion had turned to worse again, so, Miss Ash came to see me. I said,
"What Miss Ash, why did you come, hope nothing 1s wrong with Badvely?"
" No but as he is very weak, you are permited tosee him, so I came to
take you with me-", Before following her, I said with a heavy and blee~

ding heart:

" Miss Ash, this not a good manner , why? is this the custom of
your hospital that either the patients have died, or they are in their
last hours so the folks are permited to see them? Don't you see that it
4s not humanly and God doesn't want to be so?"

"No," she said, "there is still hope, but for your own sake they
gave permission fo go and see him--- once," Anyhow, we hired a carriage
and soon reached*fospital. Immediately 1 went up to his bed-.At once he
Recognized me and said," My dear wife, why don't you come soone to see
me, don'T wait so long please Gulenia-?" I said, " Don't you know my
love and affection for you, but what can I do they don't permit me to
come?", when I asked about his condition, he mk said, " Thanks, praise
Him forever". " I hope you will be alright soon, not so dear'W How long
you willstay here ?". "I don't kmow", he said, " For me to die or to
live is the same, there is no Death for me", "I did not want him to say
more, for he was too weak to speak, After awhile I left the hospital.

That night I couldn't sleep well, because I knew that he was not
sleeping either. Next day I was permited again to see him. So, early in
the morning I went to see him, There in the hospital, all the nurses:

"you know Mrs. Eskijian, truly 1t was a bad night for Badvely,
many a times he went to the other world and came back, fortunately God

pitied him and you. Now he 4s OK", they all said to me.
