. - I thanked God and said, " Hope it will not xmmptt repeat." you
‘+ know dear, they say that if a sickness goes through the 10th & 11th
day there is much hope for his’ recovery. So Iwent up to him, Again he
was much pleased to see me. He took my hand into his and asked about
me and the kids. I toled him that I did visit him yesterday. " No," he
said, " You didn't come--" again he asked about the kids. I said that
they’ are very well and that they are waiting to see Sym back hone.
"Give my love and kisses tothem", he said. When I aSked if they are take
ing good care of him, " Yes", he said, "They are doing their very best",
Not having much time, I left him and went home. After that always I re-
cefved good netis about as follows: °
Often he loses himself, yet, he has a keen ahd clear vision and
mind always", used tdreport me the nurses, He calls each nurs by their
nemes.
Friday morning nothing seious, but was too waak. That afternoon
one of his friends had the opportunity tovisit him and found his condi-
tion very bad. So he came to me and said, " Mrs, Eskijian, try to be
calm and moreover, gather your mind in your head, ( this is an armenian
expression, meaning to keep a cool head when the wdst happens) H.
Badvely is not well at all, God forbid if the unevitable happens try to
be very calm and alert, now Isaid,goodby-" Ah dear, to be cool and alert?
On the contrary , that very monent, J, lost my mind and was in avery bad
situation,I had no more strength andain real fear, hence that, I could
not go to see him, Instead,I sent for further news about his condition,
The answer was: "He is not very bad, there is still hope, who made
that lie to you? "
That night I sleped calmly, Next morning before sending my son
to get news, Miss Ash, white as a paper, and very much per-plexed how
to start talking, entered our house with Miss Rondr(?) Before they
would speak, Isaid; " VAY, Miss Ash what happened to Badvely?" She could
not answer instead she wrapped her arms around my neck and said,
" He 1s gone to the Lord---",
That very moment every hope and expectation ¥eaporated into the
atmosphere and the whole universe was empty. Ory and cry, tear yourself,
beat your head ahd knees, you gain nothing , the unevitable had to come
and 1 came soon,very soont! = a

Soul has left his earthly body to go to his Lord, and his corporal eyes
wag hes closed forever, God blesshis soul, i=
On that Friday, and before, on Tuesday tuice he has repeated;
" My death is near", Day and night he has cried, " Gulenia, Gul-
enia where are you...."
Oh, remorseless and wicked mankind, where was your love and con-
science at thattime? How they could stand his last wish asking to see me2
During all these days hardly they let me to see him twice. omby.
Now all is gone, no matter what we say and how much we blaim
