"They will die soon anyway," was the official policy. These were
the sick children and dying adults that the reverend gathered with
the help of fir. Hovannes. They cleaned, nursed, housed, fed and most
of the time made them well again, live again, and praise God again.
HE had said, “and when I go I will come back again." I believed HE.

could end my account here and say we all survived, our troubles were
over. But unfortunately this is not a tragedy with a happy ending.

The governor of Der-El-Zor had ordered, "Don't leave any of then
alive especially the children down to 5 or 7 years old, other wise
