Content Dear Mrs. Gulenia Khanoum Eskijian
Dear Sister,

The sad news of Rev. Hovhannes Eskijian's death crippled me
to the morrows of my bones. As you Imow,we lived together in the’ Maresh
Thological School for three consecutive years and were very fast friends,
Such being the case, I kmew him too well.

During those three years, day and night I explored Badvely's
entire body, soul and mind and found him to be a unique personality with
high spiritual character, Concluding from the above mentioned attributes,
Iwas sure and positive, that in the future he will occupy honerable and
remarkable positions in the Christian life end in our nation as well.

The deceased was prectically one of the best students in the
T.S. classes. Besides his daily class books, he was very zealous in sear-
ching and examining various books in the bookstores. He was very thirsty
of new and higher acquirements in his field of life. He loved very much sin-
ging church hymns and was very careful in his physicel and moral body to
Keep it clean, He was very heedful and active in every thing, provided that
it woul ind his teachers as well, He used to attend the Third Church
and loved very much the Sunday classes, visiting the houses where hungry
people were waiting to hear the word of Gaspel. AS I said above, he was a
noble and a unique personality, hat is why, he was loved and cherished by all.

He was very transparent- so to speak-,externelly simple, sin-
cere in heart, free from hypocricy, used to feel great pleasure attending
both, ordinary and congagational meetings. Was very careful in his secrete
prayers and scriptural readings, and téied to apply all his achievements
in his daily spiritual life.

Being very strict in all orders and regulations, he was far
from being imperious, on the contary,he was very meek and humble. Ready to
learn -even- from a simple unlearned man, respectful to his olders,as-
sisting with a friepdly appréch to those in the lower classes. In his re-
lationship with Godwas very intimate and knpw how to adjust his spiri-
tual life accordingly, because,he was aware of that inert life without feith,
was but nothing.

Having secrete Holy Communion with his Heavenly Father, he
was in search of the utmost truth of Christianity from the Holy Bible, from
the church history, from the believers' work, their life and their writings,
and by walking in his Savior's path to gain more and more faith, more con-
fidence in his own life. 0, friends, he never showed the least sign of dis-
content of his life's anxiety and ups and douns. No, on the contrary,he wes
always in joyous mood and contentment, whatever God provided to him.

It 4s very interesting to kmow that, at the very beggining,
in the middle and at the end of his prayers he would menton the Ase
"Dear Jesus", and would never fail in this formal rule of his- so to speak.
I remember well that, some unexperienced preacher, in steadystarting his spoa-
ch with the words "Dear Jesus", started with another senténce as if, it wou-
1d be more effective upon the listeners. He mentioned this incident to me
with deep sorow and mech concern, because in his opimion it was a very!un-
