Rev. Hovannes Eskijiants letter to:
April 30, 1914
EKIZ-OLUK
Safe,
God-Beloved Mother Sofia Hanum & Dear /\Nouritza
Hanum Elmekjian,
For a long time I was planning to write to you folks.
Now the occasion arrived. The past few weeks I couldn't help re-
member"jyou, because two years ago at these very days, our dear
friend Rev. Setrak Effendy was cruely slained. Ah, it is too sad
to remember those unhumanlyp planed ferocities. My heart bleeds.
True, that every body relatives or others did feel sorry, yet
there is much to solace and feel comforted.
When I remember those painful happenings, I comfort my-
self by singing the following hym:
"I don't know and I didn't know, is it necessary to me ?
It is true whatever He gives, gives by His grace,
Isn't it enough for me, -Yhat my Creator knows all?
Doesn't this thought gives us strength & comfort to
know that sometimes near future we too will join him? Ah, what
a glorious life it will be then}
"In that gorgious Place no more tears in our eyes, 25
All those separated will rejoin , Death itself will die.
I am much pleased to know that, you have found real com-
fort and solace, believe me dear that this is not from elsewhere
but from Heaven, from Jesus Christ the Lord. You know that.
I thank God that the defunct was a great help to Rev.A.
Yeghoyan in Ainteb, He did many good things. Now you too, have
much to do; you have allthe means. It is your turn and mine to
continue his preachings and render service to the needy. Our Lord
is expecting mich from us. Come on thenlet us work while night has
not come yet. Shell we face our Creator with empty hands, or with
many saved souls?
Thank God we all are fine, Allthe praise and glory goes
to Him, Gulenia is well and sends her best wishes to you all,
Dear ones we all feel sorry for Rev. Setrag Effendy's departure
from us, but, it would have been worse if we weren't going to join
him, Ah; but’we will, Remember well that our friend is very happy
up there, Why shouldn't we be happy too?He is paying homage to the
Lamb, why not we do the same here? We are praying for you always,
we hopethat you do the same for us. In this way some day we see mm
our Lord and our separated dear ones up in the Heaven and live
a happy and joyful life ever after.
Much love and concerh to you,
Prayerfully
H,S.Esici jian
