Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the California Bank branch office at Vermont and First Street, June 1, 1922. The building stands at the corner of two streets which lie in the foreground. Electrical poles stand in front of the bank with their wires weaving overhead. The bank has arched entrance and tall, arched windows wear two people lean on the right. Automobiles sit parked in front of Jones Goodie Shop on the far left.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
