The hydro- ele ctric ower la.nt h ere i nd i cate d i s f or
the purp ose of de eloping e l ec t ric a l energy f rom water ower
obtained from the San Gabriel Ri er. This lant . is desi ned
to utilize water power supp l ied fr om a f ourteen hundred foot
head, the power amounting to 83 30 HP conti nuous flow fo r ten
months of the year and 16860 HP fort e other two months .
It is of course impossi ble e conomi cally to de lop all of
this p ower. From the n ature of the flow a 00

motor dri en pump. The motor as 1ndi c ated is a six horse- ,
power 220-volt direct current machine. For cleaning purposes
an air compressor is installed which is operated by a three
horse- ower 220- olt direct current machine as indicated.
For re airin and i stallation pur oses there is a ten ton
crane which runs the entire len th of the uilding. This
crane i not shown in the drawin s.
The sizes of enstock, pipes, etc., are indicated in
th lan view.
