Title The Pavilion and Pier with the steamer "State of California" in the background, Redondo Beach, California, ca.1908
Description Photograph of the Pavilion and Pier showing the steamer "State of California" in the background, Redondo Beach, California, ca.1908. A finely-dressed couple walks across the street in the foreground while hundreds more walk along the sidewalks behind them. The Pavilion building with arched walkways stands on the left with an American flag waving from its dome top. People walk along the paved sidewalks which border the Pavilion as they look at the shops in its interior. A second, smaller, wooden building stands on the far right with long, thin sticks protruding from a container on its nearest wall. The "State of California" steamboat can be seen at the extreme background at center-right.
