Description
Photograph of a view of Figueroa Street looking north from Adams Street, Los Angeles, ca.1929. The Saint Vincent de Paul Church, an ornate building with decorative molding, tiered spires and a bell tower stands dominating the street on most of the left side of the photo, in front of which an American flag flies from a flagpole. Automobiles navigate the street at center. A few people stroll the sidewalk at right, where there appear to be no highrise buildings and streetlamps are placed at regular intervals. Palm trees line the street further down on the left side, blocking out most of the city behind them. A traffic signal stands at the center of the street about three-quarters up from the bottom of the image. Farther into the left foreground, the Automobile Club of California building can be seen.
