Description
Photograph of a Mexican woman and children in the market, ca.1905. The woman sits behind a blanket on which produce is spread. She is handing some of her wares to someone (not visible) at left. The little boy sits beside the woman behind a jar and a basket. He wears a small cut-off jacket and sombrero. To the right, a little girl can be seen standing beside the boy and cradling a smaller girl in her arms. An iron railing is visible directly behind the group. The door to a building can be seen behind the railing.
