Description
Photograph of rock formations on the Painted Desert on the road from Gallup to the Tohatchie Indian Reservation, New Mexico, ca.1900. Erosion over many years has shaped the towering formations, broad at the bottom and narrow at the top. There is very little vegetation in the area.
