Description
Photograph of two men repacking four burros which the men just swam across the Colorado River, Grand Canyon, ca.1900-1930. They stand on the sandy embankment on the north side of the river where the Bass Ferry lands. They are being prepared for traveling to the north rim. The river is relatively placid at this point. The shore is steep and rocky in the background and across the river. The rough canyon walls rise in the distance.
