Description
Photograph of stone Gods on display from prehistoric pueblo ruins near Santa Fe, New Mexico, ca.1895. At center, thirteen oblong stones with vaguely anthropomorphic carving on their faces are arranged in three tiers. The two largest stones, positoned on the floor and at the top, appear to have legs and arms carved on their fronts. In the background, more stones appear to be stored in cubbies. Photoprint reads: "Cliff dwellers".
