Description
Photograph of the Southern Pacific Railroad line near Redlands(or San Dimas?), lined with orange groves, California, ca.1880. The locomotive, hauling passenger cars, appear to be at a stopped position. People, standing near the tracks are peering into the train while people on the train are looking outwards. The number "1467" can be seen engraved, painted and embossed at many spots on the locomotive. Utility poles line the elevated grounds near the railroad tracks.
