Title
Portrait of people posed around two electric streetcars at Sycamore Park, ca.1895
Description
Photographic portrait of people posed around two electric streetcars at Sycamore Park on the way to Pasadena, ca.1895. Thirteen people, five of whom are dressed in conductor's uniforms, stand around or inside two electric rail cars. One conductor stands at the front of the leftmost car while a passenger sits inside, a second conductor on the ground at the aft with men in civilian clothes in front and in back of him. Two more civilians are seated at the front of the second car, while two conductors stand to either side of a passenger between them, behind which a little girl is visible on the car. Two final passengers lean against the car to the right. Signs on the cars read "R.R. Depots West Lake Park", "L.A. Con. Electric P. [...]", "South and Broadway / 102 / University Division / Washington Agricultural [...]", "Jacoby Bros.", "Gummings", "The Shoe Man / [...] & Spring" and "East Los Angeles Plaza [...]".
