Description
Photograph of man playing long flute, showing group of boys nearby, [s.d.]. Near center slightly to the right, a man wearing a pinstripe suit can be seen playing a long flute. To his right, a conch shell can be seen sitting on the ledge beside him. At his feet, a series of wooden pipes can be seen beside a wooden banjo. To his left and right, eight boys can be seen watching the man. The boys all wear suits and formal attire. In the extreme background, the side of a large building can be seen.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
