Description
Photograph of a Southern Pacific train coming out of Snow Shed 10, heading West onto Butte Canyon Trestle, ca.1910. A train pulled by a "Cab Forward" steam locomotive can be seen on tracks from left to right across center. To the right of center, the tracks can be seen elevated over a slope by what appear to be brick columns. A dirt hill is visible sloping upwards from the foreground up to a rocky peak behind the train. At least four trees are visible in front of the tracks at right, while a tree branch can be seen in the extreme left foreground. Photoprint reads: "Snow sheds on M.P.R.R.".; Originally, the image was captioned as "Missouri Pacific Railroad train making its way over a mountain trestle, [s.d.]".
