Description
Photograph of about twenty-five oil wells on Court Street, interspersed with dwellings, ca.1901. Almost overnight, a residential district was transformed into an oil field. A dirt road lies in the foreground while several oil derricks stand amongst trees behind a wooden fence in the right foreground. Many more oil derricks stand as tall as the trees that fill the yards of the small residences at center. The oil field continues into the background.
