Description
Photograph of a small outboard boat named Edith before being launched in the Colorado River at Needles ca.1900. The boat is owned by George Wharton James. It sits on a wagon drawn by two horses, backed up to the river shore. One man stands in the boat holding the horses' reins. Another man stands on the ground nearby beside three boys sitting among their possessions in trunks and a duffel bag. Two or three people are visible much further up the shore near another small boat or two. The opposite shore is lined with trees.
