Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of Los Angeles looking northeast from the City Hall tower, ca.1931. There are two large, busy streets running vertically parallel to each other in the middle of the image. There is a railroad yard in the distance, near the center of the image. In the upper left corner there is a tree-covered hill devoid of buildings. The same cannot be said of the rest of the city, which is full of closely-spaced buildings and shops; the only trees are in the bottom left corner. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Plaza Garage", "Brunswig Drug Co. Wholesale Druggists", and "The Braun [...] Laboratory Outfitters Mine Mill and Smelter Supplies".
