Description
Photograph of a view of Compton Boulevard west of Tamarind Street in Compton after the earthquake of March 10, 1933. The facade of a brick building at left has collapsed from the upper floor, covering the street below with loose brick. To the right, an early automobile floats amid the wreckage, crushed by the debris. Three pedestrians in the background stand by a second car and look onward towards a crane located farther back.; Legible signs from left to right include: "Fargo Coffee & Tea Co. Official Opening Thur. Feb 23. Coffee Roasted Daily. [...]", "Sunfreze", and "[...] Truck and Waterails Co.".
