Description
Photograph of the stage coach from Vichy Springs at Ukiah, ca.1920. The stage coach is a large four-wheeled vehicle at center. The stage is facing away from the camera to the right and the driver's seat is visible on top. The sides of the coach are open and two white padded benches are visible inside. The words "Vichy Springs" are painted in white on the dark side of the stage below a logo at right. The stage rests on a slab of concrete and in front of it are several wooden pieces used to hitch up horses. There is a row of tall bushes in the background. A flat-roofed building with small rectangular windows is visible behind the bushes. The stage was built in 1914 and owned by Ben M. Powers. It was sold to Philip Wrigley of Santa Catalina Island in 1937.
