Description
Photograph by Vischer of the grounds of Mission Santa Barbara, taken through the arches of a corridor, before 1875. The roof over the long corridor is supported by an adobe wall with large arches cut into it. Wooden fencing is in place at the base of each of these arches. Beyond this fencing, there are two men and two buildings visible on the grounds of the mission. Both men are wearing black jackets, and the man closer to the mission is standing near a wheel. The building visible on the left side of the picture is larger than that on the right, and it has two windows. Faintly visible in the background is a mountain range.
